Delay in Public Release of Nintendo’s Alarmo: Now Set for Early March and Exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online Members

Nintendo Alarmo Release Delayed Until March 2025
Nintendo has recently announced a delay for the highly anticipated Nintendo Alarmo alarm clock, which is now set to be released to the general public in March 2025. This interactive clock features beloved Nintendo characters along with animations, sounds, and images, allowing users to engage with it through gestures. Initially offered in “early access”exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online members, the broader launch was originally slated for early 2025.
Exclusive Availability for Online Members
On January 13, Nintendo of Europe updated fans via X, informing that the Alarmo’s release has shifted from mid-January to early March. During this interim period, the Alarmo will remain a limited-time exclusive for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The price tag for this novelty item is set at $99.99, with purchasing access restricted to members of the Nintendo Online service.

A Unique Addition to Any Nintendo Fan’s Home
The Alarmo, which was unexpectedly revealed in October, had fans speculating it might be the long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2. Instead, the alarm clock aims to “make waking up fun,”featuring a design that allows users to start their day with their favorite Nintendo characters. Notably, the Alarmo’s integrated motion sensors allow users to turn off the alarm simply by getting out of bed, adding a unique twist for those who find it difficult to wake up.
Currently, the chance to experience the joy of being woken up by Nintendo characters is limited to Nintendo Switch Online members. Membership starts at $19.99 per year and includes various benefits such as online gameplay, access to retro game libraries, cloud saves, and additional perks. However, to acquire the Alarmo device, subscribers will need to invest an additional $100.
Retail Availability After Public Launch
Limited Stock Expected Beyond March
Custom Image by: Katarina CimbaljevicEven with the anticipated release in March, the availability of the Alarmo may be restricted. According to the initial post on X, the alarm clock “will be available from selected retailers in certain countries.”This language raises concerns that the Alarmo may not be sold directly through Nintendo’s website, continuing the exclusivity for online members only.
This delay arises amidst growing rumors around Nintendo’s next console, potentially the Nintendo Switch 2, which many speculate may be announced soon. Interestingly, the new launch window for the Alarmo aligns with leaks suggesting a 2025 release for the console, leading to speculation about a possible connection between these two products. Fans who are not members of the Nintendo online service will have to remain patient and hope their region carries the Alarmo at the time of its eventual launch.
