Exciting News: Death Stranding 2 Trailer and Release Date Announced

At this year’s SXSW event held in Austin, Texas, renowned game developer Hideo Kojima presented a captivating new trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The 10-minute trailer showcases a blend of dynamic gameplay and compelling cutscenes, ultimately revealing the highly anticipated release date: June 26.

According to Kojima Productions, the storyline invites players on an “inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA.”In this sequel, players will follow Sam and his companions as they embark on a crucial expedition to save humanity from the brink of extinction. The game poses profound questions about connection and survival in a world filled with otherworldly adversaries and challenges.

Pre-Order Bonuses and Special Edition Details

In addition to the trailer and release date, Kojima Productions announced enticing pre-order bonuses along with two special editions tailored for PlayStation players. Those who pre-order the game will receive a custom hologram of Quokka as an early unlock, as well as various Skeletons in unique designs for use throughout the campaign. This bonus is available to both base and special edition purchasers.

Digital Deluxe Edition

The Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 and features enhanced items including the Gold versions of the Skeletons, the Quokka, Chiral Feline, and exclusive patches, alongside a Machine Gun as a level 1 early unlock.

Collector’s Edition

The impressive Collector’s Edition carries a price tag of $229.99 and is a physical-only collection that includes everything from the Deluxe edition and a wealth of additional collectible items. Here’s what players can expect:

Game Availability and Future Implications

Scheduled for release on June 26 exclusively for the PlayStation 5, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is priced at $69.99. Notably, those who secure either the Digital Deluxe or Collector’s Editions will gain early access to the game starting two days prior on June 24. Pre-orders are set to commence on March 17.

As of now, there has been no official plan to release this eagerly awaited sequel on additional platforms. However, the original Death Stranding first appeared as a PlayStation exclusive before eventually launching on PC and, more recently, an unexpected Xbox port that arrived five years post its initial PlayStation release.
