Building Infrastructure in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

In the immersive world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, players are tasked not only with making deliveries but also with the vital mission of reconstructing a fractured world following a cataclysmic event. A significant aspect of this endeavor involves collaborating with fellow players to restore essential infrastructure that has crumbled due to the Death Stranding. This rebuilding effort aims to enhance delivery efficacy and ultimately reunite the world under the Chiral Network. However, the process can often feel laborious and time-demanding.

Resource Challenges

The restoration of roads and monorails necessitates considerable resources, including Chiral Crystals, Metals, and Ceramics. Obtaining these materials in the volumes required for significant infrastructure projects can prove challenging. While raiding enemy camps can yield useful resources, players will still face the challenge of accumulating sufficient materials, requiring patience and strategy.

Efficient Resource Management with the DHV Magellan

As players progress through the game, they may discover that they can take as much material as they can carry from any city or shelter. Given that returning to Mexico later in the game is unlikely—which could limit opportunities for resource gathering—players can strategically maximize their available materials. By loading resources from various cities in Mexico onto the DHV Magellan, they can transport these vital materials to Australia effectively.

Steps to Execute the Material Transfer

  1. Enter any city or shelter in Mexico and access the main terminal.
  2. Navigating to the Fabrication and Management menu, choose the Claim Materials option.
  3. Select the desired materials and load them onto your Floating Carrier or nearby vehicles.
  4. Return to the DHV Magellan and transfer the materials into its storage.
  5. Fast travel to the closest location to the road or monorail you intend to restore, reclaim the materials, and proceed to donate them to the infrastructure.

Balancing Gameplay Mechanics

While utilizing this strategy may seem to undermine the essence of the game, it offers a means to alleviate one of its more time-consuming mechanics. Although the materials collected from Mexico alone will not be sufficient to fully restore all of Australia’s infrastructure, they provide a robust foundation that significantly reduces the time and effort needed to gather additional resources.

For players eager to optimize their gameplay experience, embracing this resource management tactic within Death Stranding 2: On the Beach can pave the way for a more enjoyable restoration journey.
