Unlocking the Secrets of Cronos: The New Dawn

Cronos: The New Dawn blends survival horror with strategic item management, requiring players to collect, place, and use items effectively. Though not heavily reliant on puzzles, players will encounter locked doors that can enhance their survival experience. While many of these locked doors do not obstruct the main storyline, gaining access to them provides valuable resources and items that aid in puzzle-solving and weapon upgrades.

Exploring Unity Hospital

One key area you’ll want to explore is the Hospital Director’s Room. During your journey as The Traveler, you are tasked with gathering three samples of Biomass Dissolving Toxin within Unity Hospital. Although the Director’s Room does not contain a sample, it holds an essential item crucial for solving the Chapel puzzle located near the primary save point on the first floor.

Shooting gas cans is often integral to puzzle solutions in Cronos: The New Dawn.

Finding the Passcode

To unlock this mysterious room, you’ll need to discover the passcode. Head to the wing housing the Director’s Room until you enter a large area filled with Biomass. From there, navigate left until you encounter a blocked door and a crouching point ahead. Press X or B to access the new area, then look to your left for a broken window that provides a view into the locked room. By shooting the gas can, you can clear the Biomass and gain entrance. Inside, don’t forget to check the document that reveals the passcode: 9509. Alternatively, you may enter the passcode directly if you prefer skipping the exploration phase.

Inside the locked room, find the Chalice essential for progressing in the game.

The Rewards Await

Upon entering the Director’s Room, you will discover various resources alongside the coveted Chalice. This item is vital for solving the previously mentioned Chapel puzzle. Successfully completing this puzzle grants you the powerful Mace JER-5120 shotgun, a modified version of the Hammer shotgun, known for its lethal double-shot capabilities.
