Coridden Guide: Navigating to Boltpicker Camp in Varun Cliffs

In the early stages of the Coridden campaign, players will encounter seemingly insurmountable challenges. However, as you progress through the narrative missions, you will gain abilities that allow you to tackle and eliminate these barriers.
A key challenge involves swimming across a river, a task that can only be performed by certain aquatic creatures. Successfully navigating this portion is essential for infiltrating the main quest area of Varun Cliffs. This quest requires the defeat of a powerful boss creature, the Crocolisk, a formidable sea beast.
Explore Varun Rapids – Coridden
Upon reaching Aatama Valley, players will receive a map marker indicating the entrance to Varun Cliffs, but be aware that this entry point is blocked. To navigate around this obstacle, head towards Varun Rapids. This location lacks a direct map marker, but can be found just on the left side of Varun Cliffs’ entrance. Leap off the bridge at Varun Cliffs and follow the leftward path to discover the entrance to Varun Rapids.
Access Water Cave – Coridden
The northern end of Varun Rapids houses the Water Cave, where the formidable Big Crocolisk lurks. The route towards the Water Cave traverses a river that can be perilous for non-aquatic creatures. Therefore, it is highly advisable to paddling upstream to Sejal Village first and utilizing the boats available along the southern coast to navigate through the river. Notably, contact with the spiky hazards while in the boat will not deplete your health points, ensuring a safer journey.
Along this route, players can undertake various side quests and activities to accumulate coins, attribute points, and new gear, enhancing the overall gaming experience.
Conquer Big Crocolisk – Coridden
The optimal strategy for defeating Big Crocolisk—similar to other boss encounters in Coridden—is employing ranged attacks. This becomes critical due to the boss’s ability to deal substantial melee damage over a considerable distance, rendering close combat exceedingly perilous.
Utilizing a bow or your creature form’s ranged abilities is advisable. Although this approach may prolong the battle, it offers a significant safety advantage.
Journey to Boltpicker’s Camp – Coridden
Once equipped with the Crocolisk form, exit the cave through the same entrance. Use this form to traverse to the left bank of the river and proceed north to enter Varun Cliffs. Follow the map indicated route to arrive at Boltpicker’s Camp.
It’s essential to bear in mind that access to the camp necessitates a creature capable of breaking through soft barriers. The Crowned Ramox is adept at this task. Equip this creature and approach the wooden gate to break through.
Within the camp, players can continue the main storyline quest. However, exercise caution, as the archers located inside pose a significant threat. It is advisable to eliminate them before advancing further.
