Last updated on February 10, 2025, by Jake Fillery: The subsequent steps are designed to help players master the first map of Black Ops 6 Zombies by completing the main Easter egg. Though Liberty Falls is among the easier quests, the thrill of the challenge shouldn’t be underestimated. If you’re new and looking to enter the chaotic world of Zombies, this map and its Easter egg present a great starting point.
Step 1: Obtain the Jet Gun (Thrustodyne Model 23)
How to Build the Jet Gun
The quest begins with the need for the Jet Gun. Although players may obtain it from the Mystery Box or via the Wonderbar! GobbleGum, there’s a guaranteed method to craft the Thrustodyne Model 23 in every game.
After spawning in Liberty Falls, make your way to the Motel, ascend the stairs to the Motor Lodge, and locate Room 202. This room is adjacent to another that has police tape blocking the door. Expect a wave of zombies upon entry, but on Round 1, this offers a perfect opportunity to rack up points. Inside Room 202, players will find a workbench for crafting the Jet Gun. Here’s how:
Obtain the Water Pressure Gauge
The first component needed is the Water Pressure Gauge, typically found in Lily’s Flowerpot, the flower shop located on Washington Avenue. Look for the Water Valve near the main door, then proceed to Fuller’s Liberty Lanes bowling alley. Find a control panel on the right wall, break it open, and hold the interact button to increase the Water Pressure. Expect an endless procession of zombies during this period; utilize Monkey Bombs and Decoys to manage them. Remember, progress saves only if players remain within Liberty Lanes bowling alley. Upon filling the Water Pressure, the gauge will drop, and players can collect it.
Obtain the Handbrake
Enter the Cemetery and progress through the rounds until a special zombie known as the Groundskeeper spawns. It’s imperative to eliminate him quickly; if he vanishes, there will be a wait for the next spawn. Defeating the Groundskeeper yields the Toolshed Key. Take this key to the Groundskeeper’s Yard and activate the toolshed on the left side to retrieve the Handbrake.
Obtain the Electrical Wires
To collect the Electrical Wires, players will require either a Mangler Cannon or a Mutant Injection, as the Mangler’s arm cannon is the only tool powerful enough to breach the locked door of the Radio House Electrics Superstore located in Riverside. Acquire the Mangler Cannon for 1, 250 Salvage or by disarming a Mangler. Use it to break open the door, and rummage through the trash inside to find the Electrical Wires, the final component for the Jet Gun.
Once you have all Jet Gun parts, return to Room 202 in the Motel and craft the Thrustodyne M23 to continue with the Liberty Falls quest.
Step 2: Interact with the SDG Generator in the Church
Players must enter the Dark Aether within the Church, where the Pack-a-Punch is situated. On the church’s North wall, find the SDG Generator. Interacting with this red panel triggers a cutscene featuring Doctor Panos, who will instruct players to construct the LTG Device.
Step 3: Obtain the LTG Device
How to Get the LTG Device
With the Jet Gun in hand, it’s time to gather the three parts required for the LTG Device by utilizing the suction ability of the Jet Gun:
- LTG Part #1 – Within the Dark Aether Church, look up to the balcony where Doctor Panos is located. Use the Jet Gun to suck up the part floating on the left.
- LTG Part #2 – Enter Olly’s Comics in Riverside and inspect the ceiling where the second LTG part will be obtained from the ceiling panels near the central desk.
- LTG Part #3 – Head to Washington Avenue and climb onto the Rooftops, jumping across to the white van, and check the southwest window of Beez’s Cuts Barber Shop for the last LTG part.
With all parts recovered, make your way to the rooftop of the Liberty Falls Loans & Savings Bank to craft the LTG Device at the workbench. Pick it up to initiate the next phase.
Step 4: Capture the First HVT with the Aether Canister
Return to the Church and interact with the SDG Generator to retrieve a metallic tube known as the Aether Canister. Note that it’s heavy, and running is impossible. This canister must be transported to the Motor Lodge’s spawn area near the gas station, where it should be placed by the Dark Aether Field Generator trap.
If you encounter issues interacting with the canister, ensure you’ve opened doors across the map and progress to the next round.
After placing the Aether Canister, move to Riverside and interact with the Dark Aether cloud in the area. This will summon the LTG, which players must protect alongside the purple orb that spawns for 60 seconds. Countless zombies will attempt to breach the generator; utilize powerful weapons such as the SVD, XM4, or GS45s Pack-a-Punched to dispatch them effectively. Should players fail to defend successfully, they will have to retry in the next round.
A high-value target (HVT) will then spawn, either an Elite Mangler or an Abomination, identifiable by their red skin. Weaken it in Riverside without eliminating it, then lead it to the Aether Canister and activate the Dark Aether Field Generator. Killing the HVT near the Aether Canister will transfer a purple orb into it. Players must collect the canister and return it to the Dark Aether Church within 90 seconds or risk failing the step. In cases of failure, simply activate the portal again in the next round; however, the defense step will be skipped.
If the HVT despawns, re-interact with the LTG to initiate the mini-boss encounter again.
Step 5: Use the Strauss Counter to Get the Second Aether Canister
With the first Aether Canister successfully placed at the SDG Generator, players can now acquire the Strauss Counter, which will replace any Tactical Equipment currently held. This counter is essential for locating three unique energy projectors. Here are their locations:
- Near the Hilltop Stairs, by the grassy area opposite PhD Flopper while vaulting over the edge.
- Behind the Groundskeeper’s Yard.
- On the rooftop of Yummy Freeze, accessible from the Liberty Falls Savings & Loans Bank by descending the East side of “The Alamo.”
At each energy projector, press the Tactical Equipment button to deploy the Strauss Counter and observe its display color:
- If Green, switch the projector’s button to Red.
- If Yellow, set the projector’s button to Yellow.
- If Red, change the projector’s button to Green.
Upon correct calibration of all projectors, players will receive dialogue from Blanchard and Panos, followed by beams directing them to the Pump & Pay gas station. The Aether Canister will now be accessible, as the gas cloud surrounding it has dissipated.
Step 6: Capture the Second HVT with the Aether Canister
With the second Aether Canister in hand, retrieve the LTG left at Riverside and make your way up Hill Street, placing it by the floor mine for the upcoming Dark Aether Field Generator trap activation.
Next, proceed to the Cemetery and place the LTG at the Dark Aether cloud to trigger a portal. Maintain a defensive stance against incoming zombies while protecting the portal for 60 seconds. Afterward, a new HVT will spawn, again either an Abomination or Mangler. Weaken it near Hill Street and activate the Dark Aether Field Generator trap when the HVT is safely near the Aether Canister.
As before, collect the Aether Canister and return it to the Dark Aether Church. The short distance to the Church allows for this task to be rather straightforward. Once there, deposit the Canister inside the SDG Generator and prepare for the crucial final step.
Best Loadout for the Liberty Falls Boss Fight
Although Liberty Falls lacks a traditional boss fight, players should be ready for a significant encounter at this stage. After completing prior steps, it’s crucial to equip yourself with adequate ammo, Essence, and robust gear. Aim for Tier 3 armor to enhance survivability, accompanied by essential perks like Jugger-Nog and Quick Revive.
Select high-tier (blue or better) weaponry, ideally with Tier 2 Pack-a-Punch upgrades or higher. Use weapons like the GS45s or the Jet Gun for effective takedowns of zombies, especially against Abominations, where critical hits will be vital. It’s advisable to employ Ammo Mods such as Napalm Burst for efficient crowd control. Lastly, if resourceful, acquire a Mutant Injector from the Crafting Bench for 2, 500 Salvage, offering a moment of invulnerability while still inflicting damage.
Step 8: Activate the SDG Generator and Fight Waves of HVTs
Start the Final Encounter in Liberty Falls
When you’re ready for the concluding encounter, head back to the Dark Aether Church and interact with the SDG Generator. This action seals the exits, trapping players inside the Church, where they must eliminate waves of zombies to fuel the generator with their souls and energy. With the right weaponry (ideally the Pack-a-Punched GS45s, Jet Gun, and all necessary perks), this task becomes manageable, as players face three distinct waves of zombies. The initial wave is straightforward, but the second introduces Manglers in addition to another HVT Mangler. The final wave features a stronger HVT Abomination, demanding strategic play. Utilize Scorestreaks like the Mutant Injector for brief invulnerability if overwhelmed.
Upon defeating all three waves, your character will intentionally go down, triggering a cutscene that signals the completion of the Liberty Falls Main Quest!
