The Executor class in Elden Ring Nightreign stands out as one of the most exhilarating and rewarding characters to play. Although mastering this character requires significant time, practice, and an understanding of enemy behavior, the payoff is immense. Once you unlock the intricacies of the Executor’s mechanics, you can confidently approach bosses in Nightreign and secure consecutive victories.

However, to fully experience the power of the Executor, completing the remembrance quest is essential. These remembrance quests are crucial for unlocking some of the most powerful Relics associated with your character, so prioritize completing them as soon as possible!

This guide presents a straightforward approach to successfully completing the Executor Remembrance Quest.

Memory Fragments

Before delving into the quest steps, it’s important to understand the memory fragments that you will collect along the way. Obtaining the first two fragments is relatively easy; simply engage in expeditions as the Executor, where defeating a single Nightlord will initiate Chapter 2 of the Journal. Notably, Gladius is a manageable opponent, so you shouldn’t face major hurdles here.

To progress further in the quest, however, you must defeat a total of at least three Nightlords to unlock the Mountaintops Shifting Earth Event. Access to this event is contingent on having taken down three unique bosses, without which you won’t unlock Chapter 6.

Fortunately, if you’re struggling, you can join a friend’s game that has already activated the Mountain event, even if it’s not present on your current map. Take the opportunity to tackle as many bosses as possible to hone your Executor skills. Out of the eight classes available, this one is among the fastest to level up.

Chapter 2 – The Rogue Bloodhound

Moving on to the Executor’s quest, you can access their journey by visiting the room housing the Journal on a raised pedestal. Certain Journal pages contain lore, but specific entries will guide you towards remembrance quests. To begin the remembrance, open up page 2 of the Executor’s Journal and select the option to embark on the quest.

If you’re unsure where to go during your remembrance, the Roundtable Hold Map is your friend—look for the exclamation mark indicating your next objective.

  • Firstly, return to the Journal room and speak with the Guardian. Confirm that you have indeed seen the Erdtree by selecting the “affirm” option.
  • Next, visit the Priestess/Duchess, who will instruct you to collect flowers from Limveld. This may sound straightforward, but prepare for some challenges!
  • Commence an expedition, either solo or with a team, ensuring you are still in remembrance mode. The boss you choose to face is unimportant; select any available option.
  • Though it’s tempting to rush toward the glowing red mark, it’s advisable to wait until the second day begins. The objective is at the map’s edge, and you’ll benefit from gaining a few extra levels and better equipment.
  • In the watery area, a Stray Bloodhound Knight will appear. While his moves are predictable, he can be quite damaging, so remain vigilant.
  • After defeating the Bloodhound Knight, gather the flowers.Be aware that you don’t need to beat the Nightlord to continue, but you must complete the expedition—do not quit!
  • Return to the Priestess, who will send you to find the Iron Menial.
  • The Iron Menial can be located outside on the west side of Roundtable Hold, near the painting easel. Make sure to exhaust his dialogue options.
  • Finally, sit at your painting station to listen to the dialogue, wrapping up the remembrance. This will trigger the appearance of a blue spiral gateway.

After successfully finishing this initial mission, you will receive two valuable rewards. The first reward is a chalice that allows you to customize different types of relics through the relic rite altar. It includes a Universal Relic slot, usable for any Relic.

In addition, you’ll receive the Blessed Flowers you collected earlier, which act as a relic and offer the following bonuses:

  • While the character is active, using the Cursed Sword restores HP.
  • Provides a +3 boost to Dexterity.

Don’t forget to equip this relic before you move on to your next run.

Chapter 6 – Braving The Wicked Winds

Unlike most other classes, the Executor is limited to just two quest chapters, making this your final assignment. Based on my experience, completing Chapter 2 will unlock Chapters 3 and 4, which contain descriptive text rather than quests. However, to access Chapters 5 and 6, I needed to defeat two distinct Nightlords while playing as the Executor, one for each chapter.Regrettably, they do not drop together.

Finding teams during remembrance mode can be challenging, so I recommend attempting these chapters solo—it’s generally easier that way.

  • Start by consulting the Priestess, who will assign you another gardening mission. Fun times!
  • Ensure you have the Mountaintops Shifting Earth Event active, as this quest takes place in the snowy Northwestern region.
  • Given the high challenge level and enemy strength in this area, it’s wise to wait until the second day to avoid being overwhelmed. The final circle usually ends around the Shifting Earth event, giving you ample time to complete your objective.
  • Head northeast towards the glowing red icon and ascend the mountain, avoiding confrontations to expedite your quest.
  • Of course, no quest is without challenges. An Erdtree Avatar will spawn, and it’s your task to take him down. If you’ve journeyed through Elden Ring, you’re likely familiar with fighting these entities. They might be slow, but their attacks can be devastating, so keep calm.
  • After picking up the Golden Sprout, either defeat the Nightlord or allow yourself to fall to return home.
  • Deliver the Sprout back to the Priestess, where the room will illuminate with golden light.

Chapter 7 – The Mirror Match

This next event unfolds immediately after your interaction with the Priestess. Once the room is filled with light, you’ll be treated to a cutscene that transports you to a dazzling golden field in front of the Erdtree, where you will face the Executor’s Cry, a mirrored version of yourself, in a one-on-one battle.

This fight can be somewhat challenging if you lack experience with the Executor class. From my own experience, the most effective strategy is to leverage the character’s skill, the Cursed Sword.

If you haven’t used the Cursed Sword yet, sheathe your blade and equip it. When you see the Executor’s Cry preparing to swing, tap LB to swiftly counter his attack. This action functions more like a deflection rather than a typical parry.

The timing required is not as stringent as it is in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, but it does share some similarities. If executed properly, this technique allows you to maintain your health and stamina. It’s particularly effective for diminishing poise and setting up a stance break.

Furthermore, after performing four successful deflections, your sword will emit a golden glow. Press L2 to carry out a dash attack with generous invincibility frames and deal a solid amount of damage. The Executor’s attacks are systematic, allowing you to quickly learn their rhythm. If you wish to conclude the fight rapidly, use your ultimate to dominate him with your Beast Form.

This combat encounter should only take a few attempts if you effectively grasp the Cursed Sword mechanics. Mastery of these skills is critical, especially if you play solo and need to draw aggro for your team.

To refine your timing, practice with the training dummies in the Roundtable Hold or engage in an expedition Solo to test your abilities.

After defeating your mirror self, approach the column of golden light to trigger the manifestation of a painter’s shack. You’ll witness a Crucible Knight inflict a fatal stab upon himself.

Surprisingly, that knight is actually you! Shocking, right? While the connection might be apparent—your character has evidently carried the mantle of a Crucible Knight, as reflected in the Armor and Aspect of the Crucible Ultimate.

Upon concluding this final chapter of the remembrance quest, you will be awarded a new costume that you can equip in the mirror room located on the east side of the Roundtable Hold. The only distinction is the addition of a stab wound on the chest piece.

You will also receive the final Relic, the Golden Sprout, which provides the following bonuses:

  • HP restoration while the Art is active during roaring.
  • HP recovery from successful guarding actions.
  • Gradually restores HP for you and nearby allies when health is low.

This relic is exceedingly useful, allowing you to mix it in and out of your character setup, assuming your Relic Slots permit such changes. Armed with your new relics and the skills gained from the remembrance quests, you are now equipped to take on the remaining bosses and defeat the final Nightlord once and for all!
