Complete Guide to Stormy Shore in Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Upon reaching the fifth level, known as Stormy Shore, in the second world of Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, be prepared for a formidable encounter with a giant octopus. As you navigate this challenging stage, it is essential to not only survive but also scout for five elusive puzzle pieces and four KONG letters.

Puzzle Pieces Location in Stormy Shore
There are five puzzle pieces hidden throughout the Stormy Shore level. Below is a detailed guide on how to uncover each one.
Puzzle Piece #1
To find the first puzzle piece, ascend the grassy wall located on the far left and keep moving in that direction. The puzzle piece will be directly above you as you climb higher.
Puzzle Piece #2
After navigating past the grassy walls, you’ll arrive at an open platform just beyond the DK barrel. Execute a ground pound to access a bonus area and ensure you collect all items within to obtain the puzzle piece at the conclusion.
Puzzle Piece #3
To secure the third puzzle piece, hop into the barrel marked with a white arrow positioned before the octopus. When the wave rises to its peak, launch from the barrel to acquire the puzzle piece.
Puzzle Piece #4
Immediately following the acquisition of the previous puzzle piece, jump onto the wooden platform after the octopus section. Utilize the wooden pole here for a ground pound, causing another pole to emerge that holds a puzzle piece on top.
Puzzle Piece #5
After passing the second checkpoint, enter the cave and ascend the grassy walls. At the summit, you’ll discover a treasure chest containing the final puzzle piece inside.
KONG Letters Location in Stormy Shore
In addition to the puzzle pieces, four KONG letters are concealed within Stormy Shore. Here’s how to find them.
KONG Letter K
At the start of the level, while scaling the grassy walls, the letter K will be readily visible, allowing for easy collection.
KONG Letter O
After passing the checkpoint’s pig, look for the letter O floating in the air. Jump to a higher platform to retrieve the letter O.
KONG Letter N
Within the section featuring the octopus, there’s a ship mast with two platforms. Ascend to the higher platform to claim the letter N.
KONG Letter G
Following the third checkpoint, search for the letter G high above on the third platform. Jump on one of the flying squids to gain a boost and reach the letter.
