Given his irresistible charm and his delightful team of inanimals, it’s hard to imagine feeling anything other than affection for him and his adorable entourage. Regardless of your aspirations for your relationship with Mateo, this guide provides the roadmap to achieving your goals.
Where to Find Mateo Manta
Mateo is easily located in the living room, comfortably draped over one of the green chairs.
While finding Mateo is straightforward, locating his inanimals poses a greater challenge. It’s essential to remember that Mateo is a kindhearted soul, which adds a vital layer to your interactions with him.
Navigating Relationships with Mateo Manta
Your journey with Mateo requires you to embark on a quest to reunite him with his missing inanimals. This endeavor takes several days and introduces you to other intriguing dateable characters along the way.
Your mission involves tracking down three scattered inanimals throughout the house. Conversations with other characters, such as Hoove, are necessary to uncover the whereabouts of these companions.
Initial Dialogue with Mateo
During your introductory chat with Mateo, he reveals that his inanimal, Davi, is missing. He’ll task you with finding Davi by consulting Phoenicia and creating a Placebook post.
To ensure Mateo provides you with the necessary information, it’s crucial to respond thoughtfully during your conversation. Here’s a helpful table to guide your responses:
Mateo’s Dialogue
Your Response
This is the second time he’s wandered off this week; I’m starting to get really worried.
Who is Davi?
You wouldn’t happen to have seen him around, would you?
I don’t think so, but I can keep an eye out.
HSSSS
Who is your little friend there?
meow~ meow~
I belong to her now.
You’re in good company.
Can I pet her?
Davi’s my responsibility; it’s my fault he’s missing. I should have been more vigilant…
You’ve got to lighten up on yourself.
It just doesn’t feel right, asking someone else to fix my mistake.
You’re not very good at accepting help, are you?
After this conversation, Mateo will prompt you to speak with Phoenicia and initiate a Placebook post. Once you’ve gathered enough information, return to Mateo to continue the quest of finding the missing inanimal.
Locating the First Inanimal
As Mateo’s narrative differs from other characters, the focus here will be on tracking down each inanimal. For the first inanimal, seek out Hoove.
If you haven’t interacted with Hoove prior, you’ll need to have a second conversation with him to ensure progression.
He’ll advise you that Davi has been spotted near Harper the Hamper, located on a windowsill near the laundry area. Retrieve Davi and return to Mateo as soon as possible.
Finding the Second Inanimal
Upon your return with the first inanimal, Mateo will inform you that Davi was last seen tangled in some cables by the television. This inanimal can be found next to Connie beneath the TV, although it may appear to be hidden behind it.
Interact with this little creature and make sure to head back to Mateo the following day to report your findings and proceed to locate Davi.
Discovering the Third Inanimal
Mateo will mention that other dateables have heard noises coming from the closet in the workout room. Investigate the bottom shelves, where you should find a box with two legs protruding.
After rescuing this inanimal, not only will you bring Davi back to Mateo, but you’ll also introduce an additional new friend. This part of the storyline is crucial as it sets the stage for the conclusion of your relationship with Mateo.
Concluding Your Interaction with Mateo
During your final conversation, present Davi along with a new friend, Stitch, an old companion of Mateo’s that he believed to be lost for good.
It’s advisable to save your game before returning Davi and Stitch to ensure you can explore different endings without starting from scratch.
This dialogue is pivotal, as it determines the nature of your relationship with Mateo. The ensuing responses will guide you down paths of Love or Friendship, while a separate section will detail the Hate scenario.
