Commissioner Gordon Voice Actor Confirms Sequel for Meta’s Batman: Arkham Shadow

Mark Rolston Reveals Exciting Sequel to Batman: Arkham Shadow
Renowned actor Mark Rolston, recognized for his roles in iconic films such as The Shawshank Redemption, Aliens, and The Departed, has recently disclosed that a sequel to Batman: Arkham Shadow is currently in the works. His voice talents can also be heard in popular video games, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, where he lends his voice to Norman Osborn, and the VR experience Batman: Arkham Shadow, portraying Commissioner Gordon.
During an engaging interview at Fan Expo 2025 Chicago conducted by Culture Combine, Rolston shared insights about his recent projects. He discussed his extensive motion-capture work not only for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but also for the original Batman: Arkham Shadow game, hinting at his upcoming involvement in the sequel by stating, “We’re about to start another one of those. I play Commissioner Gordon.”
Success of Batman: Arkham Shadow
Batman: Arkham Shadow, which debuted in late 2024 exclusively on Meta Quest 3, quickly rose to acclaim as one of the best games of the year. Its innovative melee combat system captivated players, allowing them to experience what it truly feels like to embody the Dark Knight. The title’s excellence was further recognized when it won Best VR/AR Game at the previous year’s Game Awards, outperforming notable contenders such as Metro Awakening and Asgard’s Wrath 2.
Future Prospects and Porting Possibilities
Given that Camouflaj is a subsidiary of Meta, the likelihood of Arkham Shadow being adapted for other VR platforms or PC seems minimal. However, the announcement of a sequel raises the possibility that Meta may consider porting the original game to stimulate interest among VR enthusiasts. This strategy could encourage new users to purchase a Meta Quest in anticipation of the upcoming title, provided they do not already own a compatible headset.
Industry Trends: Voice Actors Spill Secrets
This year has been eventful for voice actors, with several revealing exciting developments ahead of official announcements. Notably, the voice actors for both Superman and Green Lantern hinted at the ongoing development of Injustice 3. Additionally, the voice talent behind Edward Kenway suggested that Ubisoft is finally preparing to unveil its long-anticipated remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, which has evolved into more of an open secret within the gaming community.
