Clair Obscur Expedition 33 Guide: Step-by-Step Solution for Manor Kitchen Puzzle
In the early stages of your journey in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you will encounter Gestral Village during Act 1. Here, it is crucial to engage with the Chieftain who resides in the village. However, as you venture slightly north from the Arena, you may spot a Gestral Worker near an unusual door that bears an uncanny resemblance to one from The Manor, which you previously encountered while saving Maelle in the Flying Waters level.
This door is your gateway to the **Kitchen** area of The Manor, where an intriguing puzzle awaits that can unlock access to hidden treasures. This guide will walk you through the steps necessary to conquer the **Manor Kitchen puzzle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33**.
How to Locate the Manor Kitchen Door
For precise navigation, the entrance to the Manor’s kitchen is situated within Gestral Village itself, positioned to the north along the path originating from the Arena.Look for the secluded area near a small stage displaying mini Gestrals and marked by a “Turn Back”sign, as illustrated in the accompanying images.
Speak with the Gestral Worker, who will inform you that the door is considered sacred. Nonetheless, since you are familiar with these mysterious doors, feel free to give it a try, especially as it remains unopened for the village’s Gestrals.
After your conversation, approach the door and enter it to be teleported back to The Manor, directly into the Kitchen—one of the few previously off-limits rooms where the fun begins as you tackle the puzzle ahead.
How to Solve the Manor Kitchen Puzzle
In this room, there exists a hidden panel that you will need to activate by finding three specific switches cleverly concealed within the Kitchen’s environment.
While it may take some time to locate these switches, I have provided detailed descriptions of their locations below for your convenience, complemented with images for reference.
- Candleholder: Upon entering the kitchen, you’ll find a table on your right with several candleholders. Interact with the smallest one, which will rotate and trigger a subtle tremor confirming its activation.
- Pan: Opposite the candleholders, look for a set of pans hanging on the wall. Activate the middle pan, which will flip upside down, producing another gentle tremor. Just one switch remains.
- Faceless Bust: To the right of the hanging pans, near the opposite door of the kitchen, there’s a bust situated on a table next to a chair. Interact with it, allowing you to rotate it for activation.
Once you successfully activate all three switches, a concealed hatch in the floor will be revealed. This hatch is cleverly obscured behind some boxes and barrels, which you can break open to gain access, as displayed in the image above.
Upon descending through the hatch, you’ll find a somewhat creepy scenario involving a deceased Gestral with a slice of cake on its belly. Shifting gears, in the next room featuring stairs, there’s a Shape of Energy item inside a crate waiting for you to collect.
Smash through the crates and boxes to uncover another crawlspace within the wall that you can navigate through. Before heading up the stairs, don’t forget to retrieve the Rebellious Hairstyle for Maelle contained within a red item in one of the crates.
As a key point, the locked doors you encounter in this area will become accessible as the story progresses or once you discover additional secret doors throughout The Manor.
The journey doesn’t end here; the stairs lead to another area featuring a locked door, though it merely showcases a painting of the Sandfall Interactive development team, which serves as an enjoyable Easter egg.
To exit, retrace your steps through the crawlspace and ascend the previous flight of stairs, collecting the Shape of Energy along the way. This path will guide you back to the kitchen, from where you can exit and find yourself back in The Manor’s main lobby with the checkpoint flag.
Once you’ve exited The Manor through its main entrance, you’ll return to Gestral Village, poised to continue your adventure alongside the Expedition 33 crew as you seek out more enigmatic manor doors.
