The Duel Against Nagayoshi and the Rival Student

Your training commences with an initial duel against Nagayoshi. While Nagayoshi may not be the toughest opponent, beware of his unblockable attacks, denoted by red indicators.
To counter his assaults effectively, avoid using counters; instead, focus on dodging whenever a red indicator flashes. Following a successfully dodged final attack, Nagayoshi will become vulnerable, allowing you to inflict significant damage by holding R2/RT.
After defeating Nagayoshi, return to your quarters where a rival student awaits for another duel. This engagement is straightforward and can be won with a few well-placed sword strikes.
Lady Oichi and the Suspicious Man

A dialogue option featuring a heart indicates romance potential with that character, so be attentive to these cues.
Following this encounter, the next day, your objective shifts to tracking down a suspicious man. This task is quite simple as he doesn’t move far. Maintain your pace and follow the waypoint until you locate him at the edge of the castle.
Engage with the man to conclude this objective, leading you to a sequence of cutscenes that will transition you to the next lesson—mastering Yasuke’s combo attacks.
Mastering Attack Combos
Among the objectives in the “An Education”quest, mastering attack combos presents one of the highest levels of difficulty. Precision is essential in this section—any mistake in button input requires a restart of that particular combo sequence.
Here are some tips for success:
- Black circle with white line: Hold the specified button until the circle fills completely.
- Large white blinking circle: Tap the assigned button promptly.
- Small white circle with a shrinking outer line: Press the button when the line intersects the circle.

While white indicators are scarce in this encounter, countering them requires only a quick tap of the button.
It’s advisable to approach the fight with aggression; Yasuke’s powerful attacks can overcome the defensive maneuvers of his opponents. Once you have defeated all three students, a concluding cutscene will play, officially ending this quest.
With “An Education”complete, you can progress to the next key mission in Yasuke’s journey, titled “Lady of Whispers, ”alongside unlocking the quest chains “People of Omi”and “The Corrupt Daikan.”
