A Guide on Utilizing Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

In the realm of roguelikes, Elden Ring Nightreign presents players with a unique challenge: progression resets with each game cycle. When you embark on a new run, your character starts off essentially from scratch, losing all but a few essential traits, levels, and starting weapons.
However, there are notable exceptions in the form of Relics. These valuable items provide persistent bonuses, enhancing your character’s capabilities while remaining in your inventory across multiple runs. Importantly, using a Relic does not deplete it, but players should be aware that not all Relics are universally applicable. This guide will offer a comprehensive look at utilizing Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Utilizing Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign
Each character in the game has access to three Relic slots. It’s crucial to match the color of a Relic to the corresponding slot to activate its associated benefits. The Relics come in five distinct colors: red, yellow, blue, green, and iridescent—this last option allows any color to be equipped, broadening your tactical choices.

- Wylder: 2x Red, 1x Blue
- Guardian: 1x Red, 2x Yellow
- Ironeye: 1x Yellow, 2x Green
- Raider: 1x Red, 2x Green
- Recluse: 2x Blue, 1x Green
- Executor: 1x Red, 2x Yellow
- Duchess: 1x Red, 2x Blue
- Revenant: 2x Blue, 1x Yellow
Reviewing each Relic’s description is essential, as some provide unique bonuses tailored to specific characters. However, it’s important to note that a valuable Relic may not always align with the color of a character’s equipped slots.
For those scenarios, players can seek out Grail and Goblet items available at the Small Jar Bazaar. Grails are versatile, working across all character types, while Goblets are limited to certain archetypes, effectively expanding your tactical options.

Even if some characters are played less frequently, ensuring each has a complete three-Relic setup prevents the accidental sale of potentially valuable items that may benefit a less-used archetype later on.
Keep these key points in mind: you cannot equip the same Relic type on a single character (where “same”refers to name, color, and rarity, disregarding stat differences), and you cannot have the identical Relic active on multiple characters simultaneously.
Acquiring Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign
Players can obtain Relics through three primary methods:
- Completing Expeditions: Each run, whether successful or not, provides a mix of random Relics, along with unique Relics earned from defeating Nightlords.
- Spending Murk: This in-game currency can be used at the Small Jar Bazaar to purchase low-level Relics or a randomized loot box to secure mid-level Relics.
- Completing Remembrance Quests: Each playable character has specific quests that reward players with unique Relics. These quests progress through Expeditions and interactions detailed in the character chapters within the Journal.
Selling Unwanted Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign
Exchanging excess Relics can be a strategic decision for clearing your inventory or focusing on preferred playstyles. Fortunately, you can trade unwanted Relics for Murk, which can subsequently be reinvested at the Small Jar Bazaar for items more suited to your needs.
To sell a Relic, visit the Relic Ritual menu in Roundtable Hold and navigate through the character loadouts until you find the sell option.
