Capcom has officially announced that the much-anticipated remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny will launch on May 23, 2025. This remastered version will be accessible to players on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The announcement was made during the Capcom Spotlight streaming event on February 4, underscoring the enhancements made to this beloved 2002 title, which will feature upgraded graphics and improved gameplay mechanics, including better controls.

Originally a standout title on the PlayStation 2, Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is poised to break traditional platform limitations, with Capcom’s revitalization efforts breathing new life into the franchise. This marks the first console release since the remaster of Onimusha: Warlords in 2018, generating substantial excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the resurgence of this classic series.

During the recent PlayStation State of Play event, Capcom unveiled an exhilarating new trailer for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. The footage showcased intricate sword-fighting sequences and intense battles against adversaries ranging from skilled samurais to mystical combatants. Key figures from the game, including Oyu, Ekei Ankokuji, Magoichi Saiga, Kotaro Fuma, and the notorious Oda Nobunaga, were also highlighted, adding to the nostalgia for long-time fans.

Pre-Order Details for Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny

On the day of the release date reveal, pre-orders for the highly anticipated Onimusha title became available on multiple platforms. As an incentive for early buyers, purchasers will receive the Onimusha 2: Orchestra Album Selection Pack, which includes five tracks composed by Taro Iwashiro. The tracklist features:

Alongside this, Capcom is actively developing various significant projects, including a much-anticipated sequel to Okami, announced back in December 2024. For those who can’t wait, Capcom will be releasing Monster Hunter Wilds, scheduled for February 28, 2025, available on PC and current-gen consoles.
