Nintendo Switch Prototypes Leak: Unreleased Games Revealed

Among these prototypes are an unreleased Ridge Racer game and a canceled RPG developed by Retro Studios, the team behind the acclaimed Metroid Prime series.

This batch includes not only early builds of Splatoon 2 but also the Nintendo Switch version of RiME, an unreleased Lego Civilization title, and an ARMS debug build. Notably, fans are also getting a glimpse of the Ridge Racer prototype and Retro Studios’ ill-fated Project Harmony, a music RPG that was reportedly in development following the success of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and Metroid Prime Remastered.

Impact of Bandai Namco and Nintendo Collaboration

Given the enduring partnership between Bandai Namco and Nintendo, it’s not surprising that efforts were made to revive the Ridge Racer franchise on the Nintendo Switch. Although the project has been scrapped, the collaboration persists. Bandai Namco is currently collaborating with Masahiro Sakurai, the legendary creator behind the Super Smash Bros.franchise, on an upcoming title, Kirby Air Riders, set to launch later this year on the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2. This synergy is hardly unexpected, as Sakurai previously joined forces with Bandai Namco for the development of Super Smash Bros.for Wii U & 3DS and Ultimate.
