Nintendo Financial Results: Q3 Overview

Nintendo has recently released its financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2025. Notably, the company has confirmed the anticipated launches of two major titles: **Metroid Prime 4: Beyond** and **Pokemon Legends: Z-A**, both set for release in 2025.

Sales Performance Highlights

According to the latest financial statements, Nintendo reported a significant decline in overall sales, witnessing a 31.4% year-over-year (YoY) drop. For the first three quarters of FY2025, sales totaled ¥956.2 billion (approximately $6.19 billion), a stark contrast to the ¥1, 394.7 billion (around $9.038 billion) recorded in FY2024.

Operating and Ordinary Profit Trends

The company’s operating profit for FY2025 during the first three quarters was recorded at ¥247.5 billion (around $1.6 billion), marking a 46.7% decrease YoY from the ¥464.4 billion (approximately $3.01 billion) earned in the same period the previous year. Additionally, ordinary profit saw a dramatic reduction of 42.3%, amounting to ¥327.1 billion (approximately $2.12 billion) compared to ¥567.3 billion (about $3.67 billion) in FY2024.

Net Income Adjustments

Net income also faced a notable decline, dropping by 41.9% YoY. In FY2025/Q1-Q3, Nintendo reported net income of ¥237.1 billion (around $1.53 billion) versus ¥408 billion (approximately $2.64 billion) in the previous fiscal year.

Top-Selling Titles

In terms of game sales, the standout titles included:

• Super Mario Party Jamboree: 6.17 million units sold
• Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 5.38 million units sold
• The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom: 3.91 million units sold
• Nintendo Switch Sports: 2.63 million units sold

Upcoming Titles and Future Expectations

Looking ahead, both **Metroid Prime 4: Beyond** and **Pokemon Legends: Z-A** are slated for release on the Nintendo Switch in 2025. However, Nintendo has yet to disclose whether these titles will also be available on the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.
