Unveiling Light of Motiram: A New Challenger in Survival Gaming

Polaris Quest, a Chinese development studio backed by Tencent, has recently unveiled an exciting gameplay trailer for their upcoming title, Light of Motiram. While visual elements may draw comparisons to Guerrilla Games’ acclaimed Horizon franchise, there are notable gameplay distinctions that set this new title apart.

Gameplay Mechanics: Survival Over Adventure

Unlike Horizon’s blend of action and adventure with light RPG features, Light of Motiram primarily focuses on survival mechanics. Players will be tasked with establishing and fortifying their own bases while navigating a world populated by mechanized creatures. The game’s realistic physics engine promises a dynamic building experience that enhances the strategic aspect of gameplay.

Taming Mechanimals: Strategy Meets Creativity

A standout feature of Light of Motiram is the mechanism of taming over one hundred distinct types of ‘Mechanimals.’ Each Mechanimal showcases unique abilities and growth potential, allowing players to customize their combat styles and production capabilities. This adds a fresh strategic layer, encouraging players to experiment with different combinations and tactics.

Combat Dynamics: A Shift Toward Melee

Combat in Light of Motiram is designed with more focus on melee interactions. Players will engage in battles utilizing dodging, blocking, and counterattacking skills, making every encounter a test of reflexes and strategy. This contrasts with Horizon’s more ranged combat approach, providing gamers with a new perspective in action-packed survival scenarios.

Seamless Cooperative Play

Another exciting feature is the inclusion of seamless cooperative multiplayer gameplay. This aspect brings a social dimension that the Horizon series has yet to incorporate, although Guerrilla Games is currently venturing into this territory with their upcoming Horizon Online project. The ability to collaborate with friends in Light of Motiram adds depth and enhances the overall user experience.
