Enhancements in NVIDIA DLSS 4: Ultra Quality Mode vs. DLAA

Recent analyses reveal that NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 operating in Ultra Quality mode, accessible through the NVIDIA App, outperforms DLAA while maintaining minimal impact on image quality. This assertion comes to light in a comparative video that showcases various titles, providing gamers with insights on performance optimizations.

Latest Video Comparison Highlights

The comprehensive comparison video released by MxBenchmarkPC analyzes popular gaming titles such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3, STALKER 2, and Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, all running at 1440p resolution. The showcased gameplay clarifies how the Ultra Quality mode, optimized via the DLSS Override – Super Resolution option and by setting the input resolution to 77%, yields superior performance compared to DLAA without delivering noticeable quality degradation during gameplay.

Why Ultra Quality Mode Isn’t Officially Adopted?

Given the outstanding efficiency of Ultra Quality mode, it raises questions as to why this setting has yet to be formally integrated into games. The results suggest that there is a significant potential for enhancing gameplay experiences, making its absence puzzling.

Expanding Support and Upcoming Titles

Since its introduction earlier this year, NVIDIA DLSS 4 has been incorporated into over 125 games and applications, continually expanding its portfolio. Upcoming releases that will support NVIDIA DLSS 4 include F1 25, Dune: Awakening, MindsEye, and FBC: Firebreak, with the much-anticipated Wuchang: Fallen Feathers debuting on July 24th.

New Features of NVIDIA DLSS 4

The launch of DLSS 4 also introduced Multi Frame Generation, a feature reserved for RTX 50 series graphics cards, alongside a new AI Transformer Model that significantly enhances image quality over its predecessor, the CNN model.
