New Arbites Class Introduced in Warhammer 40K Darktide with DLC and Free Update

Exciting New Paid DLC Released for Warhammer 40K Darktide
In a significant announcement earlier today, Fatshark unveiled the first paid downloadable content (DLC) for the hit game Warhammer 40K Darktide. Available for $11.99 for the Standard Edition or $18.99 for the Deluxe Edition, the new content introduces players to the Adeptus Arbites class, complete with a customizable Cyber-Mastiff companion. This companion can be tailored in both appearance and name, enriching the gameplay experience.
Cyber-Mastiff Features
The Cyber-Mastiff brings a strategic edge to the game, equipped with its own passive target selection to assist players facing threats. Players can also direct the Cyber-Mastiff to target specific foes by double-tapping the Tag Input on eligible enemies, overriding the companion’s default behavior.
Versatile Playstyles with the Adeptus Arbites
The Adeptus Arbites class offers extensive customization options, allowing players to choose from various Talent Tree sections, including:
- Elite Killing and Cyber-Mastiff Handling
- Hybrid Combat and Supportive Utility
- Crowd Control and Melee
For those who prefer a more solitary approach, the Lone-Wolf talent is available, sacrificing access to the Cyber-Mastiff in exchange for enhanced stats: +15% Toughness Damage Reduction, +10% Attack Speed, +10% Damage, and additional benefits to Blitz Abilities.
Free Update: The Battle for Tertium
Accompanying the Arbites DLC is the free update titled The Battle for Tertium. This update redefines the core player experience, introducing a structured storyline that enhances narrative immersion. Players will now engage in a linear campaign, complete with new mission debriefs and embedded cinematics, designed to make the onboarding process smoother for newcomers.
Enhanced Mission Board and Difficulty System
Fatshark has also revamped the mission board system. Missions can now be selected independently of difficulty level, giving players more freedom and increasing the variety of mission options available. This democratization of difficulty aims to accommodate players across all skill levels effectively.
The difficulty mechanics have been transformed as well. Previously based on character leveling, players now unlock new difficulties by successfully completing missions. This new system encourages players to master their current challenges before progressing, fostering a sense of achievement and confidence amongst both newcomers and veterans.
Additional Game Enhancements
Moreover, fans can participate in the ongoing Inferno in-game event until July 7 and explore the new Havoc campaign. Players will be thrilled to find an increase in the maximum number of Operatives and weapon loadouts allowed in the game, alongside the introduction of approximately 900 new character banter conversations to enrich the in-game experience.
