The compensation will include a range of valuable items aimed at restoring goodwill among the player base. In a bid to revitalize engagement, the developers have been working extensively on game updates, including the launch of New World on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 in November 2024, aiming to broaden the game’s audience.
The complications with character transfer began with the launch of Season 7 in January. A major system update inadvertently allowed players to transfer characters across typically restricted worlds. This alteration led to unintended consequences, such as the ability to trade items and access exclusive PvP zones. Consequently, accounts exploiting these anomalies were suspended, necessitating emergency maintenance to rectify the issues. Compensation for transfer issues is being sent out on February 19, beginning at 9:30 AM PT. The process may take up to 4 hours to complete. Visit the compensations tab in-game to claim.
