NEOWIZ Partners with Shadowlight for Upcoming Game “Kill the Shadow”

In a significant move within the gaming industry, South Korean developer and publisher NEOWIZ, well-known for its hit title Lies of P, has entered into a publishing agreement with Chinese gaming studio Shadowlight. Established in Shanghai by a group of five recent graduates, Shadowlight has been recognized for its innovative approach to game development, having participated in various competitive university-level events in China, where they accumulated a number of accolades. Notably, in 2023, the company received investment from HYPERGRYPH, the creator of Arknights, and has since been a part of the COREBLAZER incubator program.

Exploring “Kill the Shadow”

The newly announced project, titled Kill the Shadow, is an investigative adventure game featuring a protagonist with the extraordinary ability to rewind time. This game is set against a backdrop that fuses cutting-edge 3D design with retro-inspired 2D pixel art, creating a visually striking aesthetic that sets it apart from typical offerings in the genre. Players will navigate a dystopian, post-war city, tasked with unraveling various mysteries and odd occurrences, bringing a unique twist to the detective narrative.

During last year’s Steam Next Fest, Shadowlight teased players with a demo of Kill the Shadow, which garnered impressive feedback. Many users praised the game for its compelling storyline, intelligent reasoning mechanisms, and distinct visual style, reinforcing the anticipation for its full release.
