Anticipation Grows for GTA VI’s Release and Modding Potential

As the countdown to the launch of GTA VI continues, we find ourselves less than a year away from its anticipated release—contingent upon Rockstar Games avoiding any further delays. The excitement surrounding this title is palpable, even among the modding community of its predecessor, GTA V. Notably, Razed, the mastermind behind the acclaimed NaturalVision visual overhaul mod, has recently shared his insights regarding the anticipated modding capabilities of the upcoming installment.

The Future of Modding in GTA VI

Razed believes that modding will flourish like never before once GTA VI is released on PC. He expressed hope that Rockstar will equip players with official modding tools, especially in light of the company’s recent developments with FiveM.“There’s a ton of potential here, ”he remarked, envisioning a scenario akin to Bethesda’s model, which features a marketplace for user-generated content. Such a platform could be mutually advantageous for modders and Rockstar alike.

Creative Possibilities for Mod Developers

While Razed is eager to create mods for GTA VI, he acknowledges that it’s premature to delve into specific ideas. He anticipates a shift in modding demand; visual upgrades may be less sought after due to the game’s already impressive aesthetic. Instead, Razed aims to focus on developing mod content beneficial for custom servers, such as exterior map packs and unique interiors.

The Role of FiveM and User-Generated Content

Razed’s reference to FiveM highlights an essential aspect of the GTA community. Initially banned by Rockstar, these popular role-playing servers have since been acquired by the company and are expected to play a pivotal role in GTA VI, particularly on PC. Recent rumors suggest that Rockstar is considering a more substantial emphasis on user-generated content, similar to platforms like Roblox.

Release Dates and Speculations

As excitement builds, PC gamers must remain patient, as the PC version of GTA VI may take longer to launch. However, Corsair Gaming’s CEO hinted that it might be available just a few months after the console release, rather than a full year. For owners of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, GTA VI is slated to hit the shelves on May 26, 2026.

As the release approaches, both players and modders will be keenly watching Rockstar’s moves, anticipating how they will shape the future of gameplay and creative expression within the Grand Theft Auto universe.
