Upcoming Patch for Monster Hunter Wilds to Fix Progression Bug

Capcom has officially announced an important update for Monster Hunter Wilds, which aims to resolve a significant progression bug found in Chapter 5. This eagerly awaited patch is scheduled to be released on March 4, 2025, ensuring that players can continue their adventures without hindrance.

Identifying the Progression Issue

The development team at Capcom has recognized the ongoing challenges that players are facing. Reports have surfaced indicating that gamers are unable to advance through the storyline at a critical juncture. Specifically, in Chapter 5-2, titled “A World Turned Upside Down, ” players may encounter an issue where a necessary NPC does not spawn, halting their progress.

Details of the Patch Release

As stated by Capcom, the forthcoming patch will be applied during the day on March 4, 2025. During this time, players will temporarily lose access to online features. However, once the update is successfully installed, they will be able to resume multiplayer hunting activities.

Additional Hotfixes Already Implemented

Beyond the progression bug, Capcom has proactively addressed various issues within the game. They have released a hotfix to tackle other pressing concerns. A specific bug related to the blacksmith feature previously caused weapon upgrade tutorials to repeat, obstructing players from accessing certain menu options effectively.

Platform-Specific Fixes

This recent hotfix is not only available on all platforms but also rectifies an additional issue encountered on the PS5. This particular bug was preventing players from unlocking the Grill a Meal and Ingredient Center features. The upcoming patch will also address this issue for Xbox and PC users, further enhancing the gameplay experience.

Despite being largely well-received, Monster Hunter Wilds has faced several challenges since its launch. Players have reported significant bugs that have hampered gameplay, coupled with performance issues on PC platforms, leading to a Mixed rating on Steam.
