According to data compiled by SteamDB, the game recorded a peak of 1, 307, 976 concurrent players on Steam on February 28, the day of its launch. As of this writing, it appears poised to approach this figure once again, with concurrent player numbers nearing 1.3 million on the second day.

In addition to its player numbers, Monster Hunter Wilds has firmly established itself atop Steam’s global best-seller charts, maintaining this position for several weeks. Although Capcom has yet to disclose specific sales figures for this action RPG, projections suggest millions of copies sold on PC alone. When considering console sales, this launch is likely setting the stage for one of Capcom’s most prosperous years yet.

Mixed User Reception

Despite the monumental success and enthusiasm surrounding its launch, user feedback has been somewhat lukewarm. Currently priced at $70, the game has earned a Mixed rating on Steam, with only 49% of around 30, 000 reviews expressing positive sentiments. Interestingly, many of the favorable reviews highlight the engaging gameplay while also addressing significant performance issues.
