Monster Hunter Wilds invites players to immerse themselves in a dynamic world that begins with the customization of their hunter and their loyal Palico companion. Throughout the gameplay experience, your character’s appearance will not only be significant during quests but also highlighted in various story cutscenes.

As you equip various armors, your character’s visual representation will change. However, if you prefer to keep your hunter’s original look visible, you have the option to hide your helmet. Furthermore, players can revisit and modify numerous attributes of both their character and Palico at any time. Below is a comprehensive guide on how to achieve this.

Modifying Your Appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds

To alter the appearance of your character and their Palico, simply visit your tent located at the base camp. As your journey progresses, you will unlock access to the base camp within the first hour of gameplay. From the camp’s entrance, head to the right, where your tent awaits, and you can make changes at your convenience.

Your tent is also available at various camps scattered across the game world and in temporary camps that you can set up during expeditions.

Inside your tent, navigate to the Appearance menu—this is located as the last menu on the right, with the first option labeled ‘Change Appearance’. Here, you’ll find options to modify both your character and Palico’s features:

Character CustomizationsPalico Customizations Hair Style Pattern Design Eyebrows/Eyelashes Long-Haired Variation Eye Color Ear Fur Type Mouth Style Eye Design Facial Hair Facial Fur Type Makeup/Face Paint Tail Shape Voice Pitch Marking Option 1 Character Bearing Marking Option 2 Clothing Style Felyne Language Selection Underclothes Voice Pitch Bar

It is important to note that while you have extensive customization options, changing your character’s gender is not permitted. To make such a change, you must create a new character altogether.

Changing Armor Appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds

The armor and weapons you equip will significantly influence your character’s look. However, you have the freedom to alter the visual presentation without affecting the actual equipment stats. In your tent’s Appearance menu, there’s an option called Equipment Appearance. This feature allows you to hide certain armor pieces or apply the appearance of different armors over your equipped gear. Remember, any adjustments made here are solely cosmetic and will not impact your character’s performance.
