Microsoft Discontinues Xbox Game Pass 14-Day Trial Before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Release

In a surprising move, Microsoft has eliminated the Xbox Game Pass 14-day trial right before the debut of Black Ops 6. Previously, users who were hesitant to commit to the full subscription price could access the Game Pass for only $1, which allowed them to enjoy 14 days of unlimited service.

Now, however, this trial option has been terminated, coming just two weeks ahead of the BO6 launch.

The 14-day trial for Xbox Game Pass has been discontinued with the impending release of Black Ops 6. As previously noted, prospective users could previously test Game Pass for just $1, rather than the standard prices of $9.99 for the Core plan, $14.99 for Standard, and $19.99 for Ultimate.

With Microsoft discontinuing this trial option, fans hoping to experience Black Ops 6 on the $1 trial will have to reconsider their plans.

For those who might not be aware, Microsoft has recently completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the company behind the Call of Duty franchise. As part of this agreement, Microsoft assured gamers that the latest Call of Duty titles would be available on Xbox Game Pass from the moment they launch. This announcement had thrilled fans, as the Game Pass had provided an affordable and straightforward way to access a vast library of games.

Black Ops 6 marks the first new title set to arrive on Game Pass on its release date, which is scheduled for October 25, 2024. However, the discontinuation of the $1 trial will now require players to pay for a subscription to enjoy the game. Consequently, fans interested in playing B06 via Xbox Game Pass will need to invest at least $14.99/month.
