Overview of the Shamrock Shake’s Return
- The popular Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock Shake are making their seasonal comeback at McDonald’s from February 4, 2025.
- For every Shamrock Shake purchased, a donation of 25 cents will be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities until March 23.
McDonald’s is thrilled to announce the revival of its iconic Shamrock Shake and Oreo Shamrock Shake, starting on February 4, 2025. The anticipation surrounding these mint-flavored delights often builds as spring approaches, with eager fans sometimes spotting the shakes earlier than the official launch date.
In a move that’s resonated with many, McDonald’s embraces nostalgia by reinstating beloved menu items. Last year saw the return of the McRib, a hit BBQ-style sandwich that has captivated fans since its redesign in 2006. This cult favorite was reintroduced in the U. S.on December 3, but only available for a limited time, igniting excitement among its followers.
This year, not only can customers indulge in these festive shakes, but they can also contribute to a charitable cause. Beginning February 10, a portion of every Shamrock Shake sold at participating locations will aid Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). This initiative helps ensure families can remain close to their children receiving hospital care.As reported by McDonald’s, this Shamrock Season features a delightful twist: the return of Grimace’s uncle, Uncle O’Grimacey, reuniting after many decades. Uncle O’Grimacey, who first appeared in 1975, is known for his shamrock-themed attire and was initially introduced to promote the seasonal shake. Over the years, he disappeared from McDonald’s branding alongside other iconic characters but is now making a comeback just in time for St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
McDonald’s Shamrock Shake and Charitable Initiatives
This Shamrock Season continues the tradition of supporting RMHC, which played a vital role in establishing the first Ronald McDonald House over 50 years ago. As the Shamrock Shake captivates fans once again and an old favorite character returns, excitement swells in anticipation of St. Patrick’s Day.
Moreover, this revitalization of seasonal favorites isn’t the only treat in store for customers. McDonald’s announced that the Snack Wrap is set to make its debut in 2025. Originally launched in 2006, the Snack Wrap offered a lighter fare, featuring crispy or grilled chicken, fresh lettuce, cheese, and either ranch or honey mustard dressing wrapped in a soft tortilla. It quickly became a popular choice for those seeking a healthier alternative to the chain’s classic offerings like Big Macs and McNuggets.
Additionally, in an exciting promotional development, McDonald’s has recently curated exclusive Pokémon Trading Card Game packs to accompany Happy Meals. From now until February 24, every Happy Meal purchase includes a pack of four Pokémon cards, showcasing a variety of Dragon-type characters such as Dragapult, Hydreigon, Roaring Moon, Rayquaza, and Dragonite.
