Season Overview: Marvel Snap’s ‘Brave New World’

  • Launch Date: February 4
  • Inspiration: Disney’s forthcoming Captain America film featuring Anthony Mackie
  • New Additions: Includes Sam Wilson Captain America and eight character cards

The highly anticipated Marvel Snap season titled **Brave New World** has commenced, marking the game’s 33rd season. This season features the introduction of Sam Wilson as Captain America alongside an exciting lineup of eight additional character cards from the Marvel universe.

Since its launch in October 2022, Second Dinner’s collectible card game has consistently released seasonal updates every month. The previous season, themed around Dark Avengers, wrapped up on February 4 at 11 AM PST, paving the way for the new content.

Film Tie-In and New Characters

The Brave New World season draws inspiration from Disney’s upcoming superhero blockbuster, **Captain America: Brave New World**, set to release in theaters on February 14. Coinciding with this premiere, the season introduces nine new cards influenced by the film. Notably, Sam Wilson Captain America stands out as the highlight. This 2/3 hero brings **Cap’s Shield** into gameplay right from the start, representing a 1/1 card that provides a valuable +2 Power boost when moved to its designated location.

While positioning Cap’s Shield may require some strategic gameplay, existing cards like **Madame Web** can assist in relocating it on the board. True to Marvel Comics lore, once in play, the shield cannot be destroyed. Additionally, Uncle Ben, another new card, cleverly reflects Marvel’s backstory; when this 1/2 character is defeated, it transforms into **Spider-Man**.

Strategic Advantages and New Card Abilities

The season also introduces **Joaquin Torres Falcon II**, a 3/4 character, whose ability allows the On Reveal effects of all 1-Cost cards to trigger twice when they are placed on the board. This unique trait positions Falcon II as a potentially powerful addition to many decks; however, careful management is necessary, as his moderate stats make him vulnerable to removal.

In addition to Sam Wilson Captain America, the Brave New World season features two notable 2-Cost cards: **Thaddeus Ross** and **Gorgon**.Thaddeus targets opponents who fail to utilize their Energy effectively by allowing you to draw a card boasting 10 or more Power. Meanwhile, Gorgon imposes a cost increase on all cards that did not start in the opponent’s deck, capping the increase at +6. Moreover, players will find two more 3/3 cards—**Redwing** and **Diamondback**—alongside the formidable **Laufey**, a 4/5 character.

The current season is set to end on March 4 at 11 PM PST, making it an exciting time for Marvel Snap enthusiasts.
