Mojang has unveiled the latest beta/preview version 1.21.50.20 for Minecraft Bedrock Edition, introducing significant alterations to the peaceful and easy gameplay modes available during world creation. Additionally, players can look forward to new additions such as the Creaking mob and the Pale Garden biome, which will debut in the upcoming Winter drop.

The modifications to peaceful and easy modes are particularly noteworthy, as they affect fundamental game mechanics. Let’s delve into the details.

As is customary with each beta/preview release for Bedrock Edition, Mojang Studios provided a detailed list of patch notes outlining the changes. While key new additions include the Creaking mob and the Pale Garden biome, the gameplay notes highlight a monumental shift.

Under normal circumstances, when players meet their demise in survival mode, they respawn at a nearby bed or respawn anchor, but all items and blocks in their inventory are lost, along with their experience points, reverting them to zero.

In the new beta/preview version 1.21.50.20, major updates for peaceful and easy modes now allow players to maintain their inventory items and experience points upon respawning. Players will keep all items, tools, weapons, armor, and blocks they possessed before their death, along with their accumulated experience.

This change is set to significantly transform gameplay, particularly in easy mode, where players can face threats from hostile mobs without severe penalties.

Keep Inventory Is No Longer Just a Cheat in Peaceful and Easy Minecraft Modes

Previously, the ability to retain inventory items post-death was viewed as a cheat accessible through game commands. Players could employ the command ‘/gamerule KeepInventory’ when cheats were enabled to permanently bind items they collected to their inventory.

However, using cheats typically disqualified players from earning achievements in the game. With the automatic keep inventory feature in easy mode, players can now fully engage in the game while still earning their achievements.

Lastly, it’s important to note that the keep inventory and enchantment level options in peaceful and easy modes are still under beta testing. Mojang may make adjustments based on player feedback.
