I’ve joked before that I keep a bunch of MMORPGs and other games on my hard drive long-term, even if I am not playing them, usually because I do go back. Staying on my PC means I intend to play you again. If I delete you, well, I can probably get you back later… but I also probably won’t.

But there are a couple of MMORPGs in this type of stasis for me that I don’t think will ever get much time out of me again. I think I keep them around because I feel loyalty for them and I wish I had time and interest for them. But will I? Elder Scrolls Online and Ultima Online probably fall into that category for me. I keep them. I love them. I once played them, obsessively. But I haven’t played either one seriously in years. They just don’t break into my top tier right now. But someday, they might again.
