Recently I’ve been going back through Warlords of Draenor on my WoW account to clear out zones in preparation for all of the housing decor rewards that should be grandfathered into my account. I guess the game doesn’t scale these old expansions up to the player, because I am an unstoppable one-shot killing machine ripping through all of that content.

And it’s kind of fun! At least for a time. I don’t want to stay in “god mode” in video games all the time, but occasionally it’s cathartic to revisit old lands and see how powerful you’ve become compared to the last time you were there.

Do you get a kick out of being massively overpowered — huh, that’s a good name for a website — in your MMORPG? Do you take vacations from current content to go stomp all over the mobs of yesteryear?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
