Let us not pretend that we are not getting tons of very stupid ads pumped directly into our eyes at all hours of every day. I know I am, and I really have minimized how much I can get served ads on a regular basis. In fact, it is remarkably easy to wind up tuning out every video game ad you get because some of them are so stupid you just don’t want to bother, and I don’t mind anyone who does. That’s before you even get into the fact that for some reason MMO ads feel particularly bad a lot of the time.

But that’s why it’s an interesting question to ask if any of them have ever worked on you.

Maybe you were reminded of a game you always meant to check out but just kept finding a reason not to play and then… hey, what the heck, let’s give this a shot. Maybe you were bored. Maybe an ad wound up being so cringe it shot the moon and attracted your attention. Has an ad ever convinced you to play an MMO? Maybe not to make the game your new main, but at least give it a shot?
