Sorcery Cursed Gem
The Cursed Gem is an item you exchange in return for skill upgrades. Depending on the upgrade level, the amount of Essence you need to spend increases, but only one Cursed Gem is required each time.
How to Get a Cursed Gem
Like every other item (or most of them) in Sorcery, you obtain it via the completion of missions. All items have a chance to drop at the end of a successful mission, but not all are guaranteed. It’s all about farming as many missions as possible in hopes that one appears!
If you want to upgrade a specific skill multiple times, you’ll need plenty of Essence and a total of 5 Cursed Gems – and that’s just for a singular skill. Upgrading your skills to max level takes time and a whole load of gems.
Spending Your Cursed Gems
To use a Cursed Gem for its intended purpose, you must speak with the Voxel NPC in the Hideout. She sits underneath one of the sheltered platforms on the floor! She has black hair, a black gothic outfit, and a red flower in her hair. If you haven’t unlocked skills, interacting with her results in a dialogue box that reads “Sorry, I can’t help you with anything”.
However, once you unlock skills, the dialogue changes! This is the NPC you go to when you want to upgrade your skills, so after interacting with her, you can select the skill you want to boost. The costs are as follows:
- Upgrade level 1
- 1 Cursed Gem
- 50 Essence
- Upgrade level 2
- 1 Cursed Gem
- 100 Essence
- Upgrade level 3
- 1 Cursed Gem
- 150 Essence
- Upgrade level 4
- 1 Cursed Gem
- 300 Essence
- Upgrade level 5
- 1 Cursed Gem
- 600 Essence
As you can see from the list above, every upgrade costs a sole Cursed Gem, which sounds easy enough. But, as the acquirement relies on RNG, you’re going to be farming quite a bit for them all!
