Sorcery Beginner’s Guide
New to Sorcery? Let’s go over the basics to help you in the early game.
Levelling Up
It sounds obvious, but the key to progression is to level your character up. You do this by completing missions, which in turn, grants you EXP. The higher your level, the more content you can unlock, like meditation.
Visit NPCs
Those NPCs aren’t just standing around for nothing! Interacting with them opens up new functions, such as selling your items, upgrading your skills, and rerolling. Some of the most key NPCs hang around the first area, which is the Hideout.
Collect Essence
You obtain Essence by completing missions and by selling items to the Merchant NPC in the Hideout. Essence is required to purchase skill upgrades from Voxel and to buy fresh new outfits for your character!
Items
Every item in Sorcery has a chance to drop at the end of a mission. These items are used for a variety of things, such as unlocking new abilities and areas. Read our Sorcery Items guide to learn more!
Unlock New Abilities
You’re going to need some new abilities if you want to come out on top.
Cursed Technique
Your Cursed Technique is unlocked via the Dream World, which is accessed at random by dying during a mission or consuming a Sleeping Medicine. You have to listen out for a twinkling sound, then follow it, and then complete an obby.
Domain Expansion
The Void is the place to be! Once you get access to this location, you can work towards unlocking your first Domain Expansion.
Skills
- Simple Domain
- Purchase from Yuki in the Void for 500 Essence
- Black Flash
- You have a random chance to obtain this skill during any fight after reaching level 50+
- Reverse Cursed Technique
- Complete the Culling Games
- Heavenly Restriction
- Collect and use a True War Remnant while in the Void to unlock this skill
Rerolling
If you ever get a Cursed Technique, Clan, or Domain Expansion that you don’t like, you can spend Cursed Tickets to reroll for a new one! To do this, head to the Hideout, and find Mahito by the clothing shop.
Cursed Tickets
This currency is required for rerolls (as mentioned in the Rerolling section). Mahito asks for a differing amount of Cursed Tickets depending on the reroll type. 2 missions give away the currency: Exterminate Curses and Cursed Object.
Weapons
You obtain weapons at random after completing missions. They increase your damage and you can use them alongside Cursed Techniques and Domain Expansions. Each weapon comes with unique abilities!
