Shonen Smash Controls

From normal attacks to special attacks, any fighting game requires a multitude of controls to take note of. I’d say Shonen Smash has a good variety of simple key binds that aren’t too difficult to master. Below, I include each control for attacking, defending, and unleashing your ultimate.

Normal Attack

The basic move that all players learn first.

  • Press J on your keyboard
  • The standard attack move
  • Can turn into a combo if you spam the button

Variations

Charging, low hits, and mid-air attacks.

  • Hold the S key down to crouch while you press J
  • Hold the W key to hit upward and press J
  • Charge the normal attack by holding down J

Special Attack

All special attack skills depend on the character you’re playing. Every character has 4 special attacks and 1 ultimate ability!

  • Press K on your keyboard
  • Key for combos!
  • Press the M key when your bar is full to perform your ultimate attack

Variations

  • Press K and either W, S, A, or D to perform the different skills

Grabbing the Enemy

A different way to stun the enemy temporarily.

  • Press L and J to grab the enemy to prevent them from moving
  • Grabbing the enemy to stun them before attacking is a good tactic!

Defensive

Defend yourself against oncoming attacks by dodging and creating a shield.

  • Hold the L key down to shield your character (not infinite)
  • Dodge attacks by pressing L and A or L and D depending on the direction you want to go (left or right)
