The Static mutation doesn’t increase the selling value by much, but once it stacks, it’s quite useful when making Sheckles!
What is the Static Mutation?
The Static mutation increases the value of a crop by 8x, and yellow particles of electricity float around it. There is currently only one way to get this mutation, making it quite a rare one! It’s also event-exclusive, which means once the event ends, and you don’t have the required pet, you can no longer obtain it.
How Do You Get the Static Mutation?
If you want your crops to get the Static mutation, you need to obtain the Raiju pet. Every 10 or so minutes, the Raiju activates its Lightning Beast ability, which causes it to eat a crop that has the Shocked mutation. But don’t worry, you won’t lose the multiplier that comes with Shocked crops, as you get the Sheckles once it eats them.
It then unleashes a surge of lightning, which acts like a chain, affecting around 4 crops and applying the Static mutation to them. If you’re lucky enough for the Lightning Beast ability to appear when a Thunderstorm weather event is active, there’s a chance for the Raiju pet to also apply the Shocked mutation to crops, which stacks with Static.
How to Get the Raiju Pet
The Raiju pet is obtainable via the Tranquil Treasures shop and costs a total of 350 Chi. To get Chi, you need to give crops with the Tranquil mutation to the Tanuki NPC. The Raiju pet is locked behind Stage 7 of the Zen Tree, which you can grow by giving Tranquil pets to the Zen Channeller NPC.
