Attack On Titan Revolution Beginners Guide
AOT Revolution is inspired by the Attack On Titan anime, and the goal is to defeat titans (it is a really good anime… I strongly recommend).
The game works the same. You can start by customising your character, rolling into a family, and getting started!
The Controls
Although you can find the controls in the game, I’ll quickly add them here for you!
- WASD Keys – Move around
- LMB – Attack with blades
- Cursor Movement – Aim your ODM Gear
- E – Fire Right ODM Grapple
- Q – Fire Left ODM Grapple
- SPACE – Jump
- SPACE (When grappling ODM gear) – Boost with gas
- R – Reload Blades (If you have any blades)
- Number Keys – Skill Hotbar
When you begin the game, select TAB on your keyboard to open up the menu. From here you will be able to see any quests you have, your inventory, any equipment, market, regiment, your battlepass, and your ranking. You have a selection of daily, weekly, main and side quests to complete, giving you rewards upon completion.
Maps
There are currently four maps available: Shiganshina, Trost, Outskirts, and Giant Forest. Depending on the time of day, certain maps offer different boosts. These boosts include Luck, EXP, and Gold. Hover over each map until you see one that has the specific boost under it, then play in that mode to be rewarded with that boost. You can also change the difficulty of the map before playing, as well as invite friends to join.
If you play in a private server, you can get up to 10 friends to do a raid with you! Currently, raids are only available on the Shiganshina map, however, if you complete a raid, you have the chance to win some great items, gear, and weapons.
Titans
There are also different types of Titans in the game, some of which are stronger than others. However, two methods are guaranteed to work when killing titans. The first way is to aim for the shoulder then hold down D, W, A and the space bar on your keyboard to give yourself a boost, then release, causing you to slash down the Titan. The second way is to aim for the head. When you’re at the top of the Titan’s head, hold down W, then release to slash down the body.
Family Types
Families are important, as they all have different abilities and skills. This is where Titan Shifting comes into play too, as only certain families can Titan Shift. When you start the game, go to customisation and press the button right at the bottom, there is a symbol at resembles the letter ‘F’. Here, you can roll into a family. There are also different kinds of families, with some being rarer than others. Check out our Attack On Titan Revolution Families Guide for extra help!
Skill Trees
There are a few different skill trees in the game. The main three are Offense, Defense, and Support. However, there is also Family and Skill. When using a Skill Tree, you simply give up a certain number of points which you have received in missions or quests to get better skills. Each Skill Tree skill provides certain perks, so it is up to you which tree you decide to focus the most on.
Titan Shifting
Although this isn’t for beginners, it’s still important in the game, so I’ll quickly go over it! Titan Shifting lets you shift back and forth between a human and a Titan. When in Titan form, you get given additional abilities and strength. Remember I mentioned that only specific families can Titan Shift?
Well, that comes into play here! Titan Shifting is only available if you are a part of the: Ackerman, Yeager, Tybur, Leonhart, Reiss, Galliard, and Arlert families. Even then, you will need to get your hands on the Titan Serum to be able to Titan Shift. Keep Titan Shifing in mind though, as it’ll make you stronger and give you additional skills to use.
