So, what does the clock do in Doors? You’re either talking about the Alarm Clock item, the Freeze Clock, the clocks on walls, or the Clock entity. If you’re looking for information on any of those, you can find it below!

Clock into Doors! There are more items than just the Alarm Clock and Freeze Clock thanks to the latest update, so take a look at our Doors Floor 2 Items guide to see what they are.

What Does the Clock Do in Doors?

There are different instances of a clock in Doors, so I’ll go over all of them to avoid any confusion!

Clock Entity

This entity appears on Floor 1 in The Hotel and has a 1 in 25 chance of spawning. It looks exactly like a clock, except for the fact that it glows red and has a face. As it chases you, the word ‘RUN’ flashes across the clock… ominous.

The tricky thing about this entity is that it looks like a regular old grandfather clock at first. It turns into the Clock entity at random or if someone interacts with it. If the Clock is about to spawn in, all of the lights in the room start to flicker. If you manage to survive an encounter with the Clock, you earn the ‘In Plain Sight’ badge.

Alarm Clock

The Alarm Clock is an item located on Floor 1 between rooms 49 and 50. Its main use is to distract entities, particularly Figure as it is blind. Using the alarm clock to create loud sounds is the best way to counter this entity! Just place the alarm clock somewhere on the floor and set it off, giving you time to get away from the Figure.

When winding up the clock, it takes 10 seconds to start making noise. Annoyingly, the entity has a chance to break the alarm clock, which means it’s sometimes a one-use time. However, in some cases, the entity is merely distracted by it and won’t destroy it.

Freeze Clock

The Freeze Clock is a usable item that stops entities for a total of 20 seconds. It’s most useful against entities during a chase or when you’re at low HP and in danger. The screen turns grey when you freeze time and you cannot interact with anything (unless already open) but lockers and spaces to hide in.

While you can evade an entity by using the Freeze Clock, it’s still best to not touch them as they can still kill you. If you want the Freeze Clock, it costs 400 coins from Jeff’s Shop!

Clocks On Walls

If you’re wondering about the clocks that appear on random walls through the rooms, they’re an important part of the spawning method for the Dread entity. I’ve written a whole guide on how to spawn the Doors Dread entity, but in short, if a room has a clock on the wall, you can spawn Dread. These clocks have no other purpose than to signify the time, and after surviving Dread, the clock turns to midnight which means you can escape.
