Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li won his second CEG title in a month's time this weekend, beating Fly100% in the finals with a 2-1 score. The competition also saw some surprising early losses, as both Like and TeD didn't make it into the knockout phase and found themselves going home early.
Sky made a comeback after being one game behind on Fly100%, grabbing two more games and bringing home the top spot. Sky had dropped the Gryphon tactic in favour of his own arch mage/beast master push.
His Orc opponent Fly100% had made it into the finals after defeating TH000 in the semifinals with a solid 2-0 win. He made it through the competition undefeated until the final.
Favorites Like and TeD, on the other hand, didn't make it far. Both players didn't seem to be operating at their best, with TeD losing games to all of his groupmates and Like simply not creating the decisive wins that could help him get out of the group stages. The latter was especially a surprise, as Like's position in the playoffs had been all but certain in the minds of many.
With this win, Sky places himself at the top of this year's prize money rankings in China with the prize cheque of $2.930, which puts him some $151 above his teammate Infi.
