Space wins the 70th edition of the ZOTAC Cup versus MichaeL. 100 Euros in the pocket after a 3-0 victory in less than 40 minutes for the Undead.
The Undead player Sung Hyun 'Space' Park grabbed another ZOTAC Cup win, after taking down Jin-Wook 'MichaeL' Noh, in a Korean final clash.
This week's ZOTAC top 8 brought 3 Korean and 5 European players. Among them we spotted the name of Grubby, who has the highest amount of ZOTAC titles in this tournament. Other notable players were the talented and well-known Space and the younger brother of Lucifer, MichaeL, who has shown good results lately. However, neither FoCuS nor LucifroN, the two previous ZOTAC winners, were among the participants.
The first finalist, MichaeL, went against Grubby in the Semifinals. The Human player took down Fly100% few days ago, and continued his list of top Orcs defeated, marking a victory over the Dutchman with a 2-1 score, who yet again continues his losing streak against the Human forces. In the other semifinal, things went as expected and the favorite Space defeated Yange. The final was set - MichaeL versus Space.
Starting map was Twisted Meadows. The Expertise player went for a fast Altar, and crept to level 2 with his Paladin and Millitia. Space went on to irritate his opponent, but the Human kept creeping. However, MichaeL saw the upcoming Gargoyles from the two Crypts too late. Another mistake he made was his late tech and also the decision to creep around the cross position of his base, which gave the Undead Scourge enough time to kill several peasants and towers. Being unable to push Space away, MichaeL was forced to leave the game after only eight minutes.
In game two, which took part on Terenas Stand, fnatic's player changed his plan and went fast tier 3. MichaeL chose Archmage, and Mountain King later on, opting to expand at the bottom left, but Space had other thoughts. He did not cancel the Town Hall, but pushed the Towers with the freshly added Fiends and Lich. The peasants kept dying under the Scourge's fire. With Destroyers in the army and kills on both enemy heroes, Space left the game with the comfortable 2-0 score.
Third, and eventually last game was Melting Valley. Archmage and Death Knight again, and this time both players went straight to tier 3. The two forces met at the shop near the Human base, where two hero kills gave the edge for the Undead player. Once again Lich was his second hero addition. Space did a nice creep jack, scoring a hat trick in hero-kills, marking the end of the game after only 10 minutes, crowning Space for winner ZOTAC Cup #70.
