A decimated SK-Gaming was defeated by mTw thanks to the stellar performance by Protois and two forfeit losses.
The first round of the new NGL-ONE season featured mTw.PokerRoom and SK-Gaming. Last season's runner-ups were the clear favorites coming to the match, but when Lyn and SoJu did not show up, SK-Gaming manager reis had to see his team forfeit the last two matches, giving mTw.PokerRoom the win.
The match started out well for SK-Gaming, with ReMinD defeating the German player hanf. Though one when Protois stepped up in the game, he was able to defeat both ReMinD and ReiGn. When Protois was about to play Lyn, the recent Extreme Masters champion, on Lost Temple, he was given a forfeit win instead. Same thing happened with SoJu in the last match, resulting in a 4-1 win for mTw.PokerRoom.
According to the rules, a forfeit loss gives a penalty point, which means SK-Gaming will be given two penalty points. And in the end of the season SK-Gaming will have their prize money reduced by 10 percent, should they reach the top four.
GosuGamers have tried reaching the SK-Gaming management for a comment without any luck.
