Sky lost to his team mates Infi and TeD in the first group stage, and had to say goodbye to his World Cyber Games dreams.
- After the second loss, I almost broke down in tears, writes Sky in his blog.
Last week was without a doubt not an easy one for Li "Sky" Xiaofeng. After losing to SaSe and HoT at the e-Stars Continental Cup and seeing his "Team East" lose to "Team West", he took an early flight back to China to start his journey towards a possibly third World Cyber Games title.
But after losing in the first group stage over Infi and TeD, his hopes of winning a third title in WCG were shattered. In his blog, he shared his sadness with his fans.
- I would be lying if I said I'm unconcerned about my losses. After losing my first match on stage, I was really sad. After the second loss, I almost broke down into tears, writes Sky, translated by myMYM.com.
Sky further writes that this letdown was not due to exhaustion and the randomness factor it being best of one, but instead because of poor attitude and wrong mindset.
But the two time world champion aims ahead, and is a good sport and wishes the winners good luck.
- I just want to say that I am not completely down yet, but rather gathering strength to dominate even more in the future, says Sky.
This year's edition of World Cyber Games will be the first tournament since 2005 that Li "Sky" Xiaofeng is not taking part. Sky should have been playing in 2004 as well, but due to visa complications for the Chinese team, he was unable to enter.
