One and a half-year MeetYourMaker Joona "Konna" Parikka closes his Warcraft 3 Gaming Career chapter for a newly started study.
It was to expect that Konna wouldn’t play for MeetYourMakers anymore. With the addition of Grubby the chance of play for Parikka became even lesser. Now the die is cast as the baldheaded Orc from Anjalankoski in Finland has officially retired.
"I have been struggling to keep my motivation up for WC3 in the past months. Due to my newly started studies my freetime has decreased and i feel like having almost no chance winning or even putting up a decent performance in any tournament anymore." Said Parikka in the official statement on the MYM website. "Also the game is getting really tiring after no patch in a year. So i have decided to quit WarCraft III."
Parrika’s most valuable achievement is probably the European Nations Championship 2007 ttle with team Finland. Other achievements of the 19-year-old are a first place at the Assembly 2007, a top 16 place at the World Cyber Games 2007 in Seattle and a 5th place at the KODE5 Germany 2007.
"I am sad that Joona will stop playing Warcraft, but I do understand that he will quit Warcraft, because it is taking a lot of time to be one of the world's best." stated Matthias Beyer, MYM Assistant warcraft 3 Manager, about the departing of Konna.
The departure of Parikka shouldn't have any impact on the MYM roster. With FoCuS, Ciara and Grubby as fellow orc in the team they should be able to bear the loss.
