fnatic director: Sad to see things sour so quickly
Fnatic now speaks up and the head manager for fnatic has released a statement about the ElakeDuck issue.
- We have never parted ways with a player on a bitter note before, writes Samuel "zr0" Mathews.
Earlier today we were contacted by Björn "ElakeDuck" Ödman where he told us the reason why he left fnatic. He explained that he was not given any more salary, because XyLigan and Satiini was to be given a high amount. He was very disappointed and it created lots of discussion.
Now, the fnatic Managing Director Samuel "zr0" Mathews (picture) has made an official announcement that ElakeDuck is leaving the team indeed. He says that the relationship with ElakeDuck started out great, and that they helped fnatic a lot in the beginning of the NGL-ONE season.
- However it is sad to see things sour so quickly between Fnatic and Bjorn, writes zr0 and adds that they have never parted ways with a player on a bitter note before.
He keeps on explaining what happened. He says that they spent over 2,500 dollars on wages on Duck while he was in fnatic. And after only being in the team actively for one and a half month, he thought that it could not continue like this.
zr0: Our budget was already at its maximum
- I spoke with duck and let him know of the situation and that our budget for WC3 was already at its maximum and we couldn't afford to continue paying for an inactive player, he writes.
He says they offered him to continue in the team and once he's active again they would start paying him as usual - but that he declined that.
zr0 ends his statement with saying that it he is saddened to see him go, however if he had to make this decision again he would not change a thing.
