Are you oldschool enough to remember orky.Soul, SK.HeMaN, AT.InToX and SK.SuRviVoR? GIGA 2 will host a cup with these four players on Sunday. The game is Reign of Chaos, and the theme is nostalgia.
Oldschool Cup Players

AT.InToXOn Sunday the four players Soul, HeMaN, SuRviVoR and InToX will play in an oldschool cup hosted by GIGA 2. Every player will face eachother in a best of three match, and the one to take home the most games will be the winner. All four players were very succesful while Reign of Chaos was still the game to be played, and so it will be in this event as well.
The four players are all strong and had quite a history. The Russian player orky.Soul was known for being one of the best random players, doing very good with both Human and Orc. It remains to be seen what race he will play against the other oldies.
The French player InToX previously playing for AT was a very innovative Night Elf player. He is known as TreeToX as he was the one first using Ancient of Wars as fighting units. A very strong player, one of the strongest France has ever produced.
Two Human Swedies players in the list. One of them is SK.HeMaN, the Swedish player who took Human to new heights. He was the winner of the first ESWC tournament and placed third place in the second. He was a part of the first non-Asian squad to enter Korea as a part of SK-Gaming. HeMaN was one of the stalwart members in the SK lineup before he retired.
The second and the last player we have yet to present is Fredrik "SuRviVoR" Jansson. Also a great Human player and one of the core players in the SK lineup while he was active. GosuGamers caught up with the Human Swede to rate his pulse.
You are one of the four players in the Oldschool Cup, along with orky.Soul, SK.HeMaN and At.InToX. What do you think of your chances?
- Well, unless some of the other guys will practise much before this event, I think the chance of winning is pretty good, probably as good as for any of the other guys
How active are you in the WarCraft scene these days? How much have you played since you put WarCraft III on the shelf?
- I'm not active at all. I read some wc3-news now and then but that's about it. I haven't played any serious games since I quit (more than 1,5 yrs ago), but I've played some team games with friends etc
The game will be played in Reign of Chaos, and not Frozen Throne which is played now. Have you thought of any strategies to use?
- Hm, to be honest I didn't even know ROC was going to be played :). It should be fun though, but I haven't thought of any special strats
What was it that made you sign up for this? A possible comeback, or just a thing for fun?
- Hehe no, I'm too old for a comeback =) Well they asked me to participate and it sounded like a fun thing, both for me personally and for the fans.
How does the life of SuRviVoR look like today?
- After I quit wc3, I've been playing alot of poker and I've been living off it for about a year now, so alot of my time goes into that. Other than that I spend time with my friends, party etc
What is your previous record against the players in the cup? If this was, for say 1,5 years ago, would you have won?
- Wow, hard to say.. I played alot of games vs both Intox and Heman in my days, and I think it is quite even against both of them.. I never played much against Soul. Hmm can't remember when the other guys retired, but I won the last games vs Heman before I quit so I would probably have had a good chance
What do you think of the scene of today compared to when you were active?
- I think the top-players of today are generally less mannered (not all ofcourse) than they were before which is a bit sad. Other than that the scene has grown alot and become more international than it was on my time. Then we had a european-, an american- and an asianscene. Now it is more united and the competition in WC3L for example is alot tougher these days
