Grubby was looking very good in taking the gold this year, but lost against previous year's winner Sky in a close set of games.

The former WCG winners Grubby and Sky faced off in the quarter final. Grubby had told GosuGamers earlier that he did not think Sky would win and that he felt more confident than ever against all the races. When we interviewed Sky he said that he did not think he would win once again. It looked good for Grubby after taking the first game, but the following two games ended in a loss for the Dutch superstar. He tells GosuGamers in an interview that he was very disappointed
- I made pretty good move. He made it hard for me, though I played my own game, he says about the first game played on Twisted Meadows.

Th second game was on Terenas Stand, where Grubby did a strategy that was not really suiting the map. He managed to kill Sky's Archmage in the middle of the game, but overall he doubted what his next move was to be, which he thought may have caused Grubby the match.

In the third match he was not able to find Sky on the map (Echo Isles), and was then tower rushed. He did not find it frustrating losing to such a strategy, he says that it felt like any other loss.

Sky had been going strong throughout the whole tournament, only losing one game earlier against Korean powerhouse GoStop. Sky versus Grubby could might as well have been the grand final, with the status of the players and their skill. However, this means that Grubby is out of the tournament while Sky will have to battle on, facing HoT in the semi final.

Right now, ToD is playing XyLigan in the other semi final. If the French Human player manages to win this one he will end his third place WCG streak, and take at least the silver medal. Follow it all in our event coverage, linked below.
