The LAN Finals in ClanBase EuroCup Season XIII started this morning, and early on we got to see Rotterdam defeat the superstar Grubby. This was a major upset indeed, looking at the GosuBet statistics only 9% placed their minerals on Rotterdam. Almost everyone rooted Grubby as the winner of EuroCup, but not Grubby himself. In an interview with Carmac he says that you don't enter a tournament as a winner. However, his most difficult opponent he mentions is himself.
- If I'm risking underestimating someone I prefer to pretend he's the best player in the world, he says.
Whether it was underestimation or not, Rotterdam defeated Grubby 2-1. We also saw the Swedish player SaSe defeat Paladyn in the first round, which means that SaSe and Rotterdam will clash in the Winner Bracket Final.
Paladyn and Grubby played eachother in the Loser Bracket, where Grubby emerged as the winner after a secure 2-0 win. What awaits now is SaSe versus Rotterdam. It was meant to start at 19:30, but no result is made public as of yet.
