A total of 20 players are divided in groups of five, and have all been invited by the StarsWar staff. Other players were invited as well, but for many of the players the event will be held at a bad time. The tournament taking place in China is on the same date as ESWC qualifiers in Brazil and Russia, and DreamHack Summer 2006 as well where the Swedish ESWC qualifiers will be held.
Two players out of each group will move on to the playoffs, to determine the three players to join up with 4K^ToD and 4K^Grubby and become Team Europe/America and compete in China against the Korean and the Chinese team. The tournament starts on Friday, 20:00.

A couple of days ago the StarsWar III was announced, and that groups were just recently announced for the European/American qualifier. Sadly some of the invited players could not make it due to ESWC qualifiers and DreamHack Summer 2006 being laid on the same date.
