4K.Grubby - starting his Asian tour tomorrowThe man to the right is one of the most known faces in the gaming community. His name is Manuel Schenkhuizen, more known as Grubby. This fantastic Orc player comes from Netherlands, and has been around for a long while. Grubby has been called the best player of all time, and he has the achievements to be called it. He is the reigning champion in both ESWC and WCG and is the front figure in the WC3L champions 4Kings.Intel, currently undefeated in 30 WC3L matches in a row.
At the eSports Award 2005 both 4Kings.Intel and Grubby received awards - as the eSports Team of the Year and Best WarCraft 3 player. They are one of the leading teams and have some of the absolute best players in the WarCraft scene. Last year they announced that 4Kings were moving to Korea and making it as progamers there, which they did and proved their strength. Now, they have announced yet another project which means that Grubby will be packing his bags - an Asian Tour called "Meet The Gamer".
The "Meet The Gamer" tour starts on Monday the 5th of September and concludes on Friday 9th of September. Stops are Taipei (Taiwan), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and the city of Singapore (Singapore). At each stop, gamers will have the opportunity to meet and play with the Dutch Orc in the form of Grubby. The tour is a kick-off for a possible three-legged Asian tour in the upcoming months. This is one of Intel's ways to continue promoting the company and gaming in the Asian countries. The Regional Public Relations Manager of Intel Asia Pacific, Lulu Tsao says that they are very happy to be associated with 4Kings.
"Today's gamers such as Grubby demands an awesome gaming experience, and we are here to deliver that extreme realism, responsiveness, and intensity. Top gamers will tell you it is not only on how one plays, but also on what one plays the game on that matters." - Lulu Tsao
The 4Kings.Intel manager Philip Wride says that this is an excellent opportunity to promote gaming to the Asian market, where 4Kings.Intel already is looked upon as a strong team and company.
"We are always looking for new ways to continue developing computer gaming into a sport and engaging different cultures through the support from Intel is one way of achieving this goal." - Philip "Protex" Wride
If this goes well, more tour stops will occur on the upcoming months, together with the World Cyber Games 2005 in Singapore, where Grubby has the chance to defend his title as the World Cyber Games 2004 champion.
