e-stars Seoul starts today where the team of the west, over at South Korea, has the East team awaiting them.
The time has finally come where we will see another West versus East showdown to decide which continent has the best players in Warcraft 3. Both teams will battle in the continental-cup, which consist out of two different formats, to score points for their respective side.
Threesome
The two formats used for the continental-cup are familiar formats used in other leagues. The first one both teams will play, e-stars calls it the threesome format which simply involves both teams seeding players on a map and from there on they battle the opponent they are put up against.
Deathmatch
The other format e-stars calls Deathmatch which is the popular King of the Hill format used in NGL-ONE, where two players are seeded on a map and from there on the loser gets eliminated and the next player of that team plays against the winning player. It should feel very similar to what we see in NGL-ONE nowadays.
Both teams consist out of three players. The West team has players from different countries in Europe: Netherlands, Spain and Germany while the East team has two players from South Korea and one from China.
Although when it comes to the race the players use, e-stars is packed with Orcs. Four out of six players are Orc users and each side has two Orc players representing them, so we are in for a lot Orc mirror matches.
The best of the West
The West for most part has the top two Orc players in Europe: Pedro “LucifroN” Moreno and Manuel “Grubby” Schenkhuizen. They seemed like the two obvious pick for the West team as they are probably the best chances Europe has of winning this. So far they have been the most dominant European players in the scene and for them to have been picked is no surprise.
Dennis “HasuObs” Schneider is the other player representing the West Side. Although it may seem like a surprise he was chosen (HasuObs said it himself), HasuObs might surprise us against the East team. Being an Undead player against the East’s Orc players, he might have a hard a time, considering the fact that there are two of them but nonetheless he should not be counted out as he is a very skilled Undead player.

The beasts of the East
The East team is probably the favorite in the eyes of many to win the continental cup, atleast what is Warcraft 3 and not Counter-Strike. The team consist from what is the best Orc player in South Korea, June “Lyn” Park and the best Orc player in China “Fly100%” to having the fifth Race Jae Ho “Moon” Jang.
A strong team the east has with no doubt, possibly the best they could have gotten considering the players and their current shape. There is no doubt that these guys will give West team the fight of their lives.
